Mobile app (PWA)

Townwell works in any phone browser, but you can also install it as an app on your home screen. The installed version runs full-screen like a native app and can send you push notifications when your community is active. You sign in with the same account and keep all of your data — installing the app doesn't create a separate profile.

Install on iPhone and iPad (Safari)

  1. Open Townwell in Safari on your iPhone or iPad. (On iOS, "Add to Home Screen" is only available from Safari — other browsers can't add web apps.)
  2. Tap the Share button — the square with an arrow pointing up, at the bottom of the screen.
  3. Scroll down and tap Add to Home Screen.
  4. Give the app a name if you like (it defaults to "Townwell"), then tap Add in the top-right.

Townwell now appears on your home screen like any other app. Open it from there to use it full-screen.

Install on Android (Chrome)

  1. Open Townwell in Chrome on your Android phone.
  2. Tap the ⋮ (three-dot) menu in the top-right corner.
  3. Tap Install app (or Add to Home screen, depending on your phone). If Chrome shows an "Install app" prompt, tap it to confirm.

Townwell now appears on your home screen or in your app drawer. Open it from there to use it full-screen.

Notifications

Push notifications are the main reason to install the app. After you install, if Townwell asks for permission to send notifications, tap Allow — otherwise you won't be notified when someone posts, messages, or invites you to an event. You can change notification settings any time in your phone's settings.
