Feed & posts
The community feed is the shared stream where members post updates, questions, announcements, and media that everyone in the community can see.
Posting
- Create a post from the feed composer: write your message and optionally attach an image.
- Comment on any post to keep the conversation in one place.
- React to posts and comments to acknowledge them quickly.
Attachments
Images attached to a post are uploaded to Townwell's storage. Like everything else in the community, they're end-to-end encrypted — only community members can view them.
Who can see what
Content in a community feed is visible to members of that community. When a post is marked with an admin-restricted visibility, only those members can see it. Your own personal feed (the home view with no community selected) is visible only to you — see the Personal layer guide.
Reporting a post or image
Every post has a ⋮ menu in its top-right corner. Choose Report, pick a reason, and submit. There is one report action — the reason you choose decides where the report goes:
- most reasons flag the post for your community's admins;
- a few reasons — illegal media, malware, or a threat of imminent harm — go straight to the Townwell safety team, not to your community's admins.
See Reporting content & safety for what each reason means and what happens after you report.
A note on limits
To keep shared feeds readable and spam-free, there's a per-day posting limit on community feeds. If you hit it, you'll see a message letting you know to come back later — the limit resets after a day.
